Device Owner

The Device Owner is the everyday end user — they own one or a few devices and mostly want to know “is everything OK?”. They live in the consumer-facing app and are the person an alert ultimately needs to reach.

What they care about

Peace of mind. A device owner rarely configures anything deep; they watch status, acknowledge alerts, and occasionally rename or share a device.

Goals

  • See live status of their devices at a glance.
  • Receive a timely alert when something is wrong.
  • Acknowledge or snooze an alert from their phone.

Where they work

They interact almost entirely through the User-Facing Apps, which subscribe to device state and surface alerts.
