The Device Owner is the everyday end user — they own one or a few devices and mostly want to know “is everything OK?”. They live in the consumer-facing app and are the person an alert ultimately needs to reach.
What they care about
Peace of mind. A device owner rarely configures anything deep; they watch status, acknowledge alerts, and occasionally rename or share a device.
They interact almost entirely through the User-Facing Apps, which subscribe to device state and surface alerts.
When a device crosses a threshold, the alert pipeline is what turns raw telemetry into the push notification a device owner sees:
